Splash of Colour
I was looking over a few of my tulip photos from the last few days and this one called out to me to have some extra work done on it, specifically remove all colour except for the tulips in the garden bed around the statue of Queen Victoria.
I’d done a few changes to the image in Lightroom before I decided to restart and record what I did to create this image so you can get an idea of how it’s done. There are a few ways to do this and this is just one way that is not ideal as it is destructive to the image but it is quicker and the end result is still the same.
There are so many options available to transform what the camera captures to the end result and for me a lot of the time I do not plan on creating an image like this at the time of capture. Only after I was viewing it larger in Lightroom did I have the thought to create this image. Total time to do was just over 13 minutes.
