Beehive

At this years Bendigo Open House I only got to one location, the Beehive, and I got there at 9:15am for a 10am start and I was already at the end of the first group to enter. It was opened up 30 min early to accommodate the every growing queue of patrons who wanted to check out the progress.

I wanted to get some more photos of the progress and get some shots from level 1, just like above, something I have wanted to capture for many years now but wasn’t able. In the set of photos below you can see the hole in the floor that I shot through from ground level at Bendigo Open House 2018.

This will be the last time to shoot the Beehive before it is complete so I made it my highest priority from this years Open House.

Just before the allowed time to look around, a volunteer mentioned that behind one of the staircases to level 2 was a list of names over the years of works who had worked on the Beehive over the years, a pretty cool find!
